Begonia Gymfest successful for Zone gymnasts


Level 4 First Place Team

The Gymnastics Zone Junior Olympic Compulsory gymnasts recently competed in their biggest meet of the season – the Begonia Gymfest held at the Kaiser Permanente Arena hosted by Santa Cruz Gymnastics.

The results are as follows:

Level 3 Team:
Junior A  Age Division
Kate Parker – eighth on vault, ninth on bars, fourth on beam, sixth on floor and third all-around with a score of 34.500.
Isabella Moore – fifth on beam, second on floor and fourth all-around with a score of 34.400.
Nicole Patterson – sixth on beam, eighth on floor and seventh all-around with a score of 33.425.
Kaylee Costella – sixth on vault, third on beam and eighth all-around with a score of 33.175.
Lily Turner – ninth on vault, eighth on beam and ninth all-around with a score of 32.225.
Soraya Towey – fifth on beam and tenth all-around with a score of 32.000.
Arianna Deibert – eighth on beam, ninth on floor and eleventh all-around with a score of 31.975.
Emma Riggs seventh on beam and twelfth all-around with a score of 31.800.
Stella Sebastiani – seventh on bars and thirteenth all-around with a score of 30.750.
Abigail Loose – fourteenth all-around with a score of 30.525


Junior B Age Division
Sade Muessel – first on vault, sixth on bars, first on beam, first on floor and first all-around with a score of 36.675.
Brynna Cohee – fourth on vault, eighth on bars, third on beam and fifth all-around with a score of 34.725.


Older Age Division
Mia Sellick – third on vault, sixth on bars, fourth on beam, eighth on floor and third all-around with a 35.675.
Calla Miner – first on beam and eleventh all-around with a score of 34.525.

In addition to the previous qualifiers, the following Level 3 gymnasts earned an all-around score of 34.50 or greater and qualified for State Championships to be held in November:  Kate Parker, Bryanna Cohee, Calla Miner


Level 4 Team:
Junior A Age Division
Emily Tran – second on vault, first on bars, second on beam, second on floor and second all-around with a score of 36.650.
Naomi Uemura – sixth on vault, fifth on bars, first on beam, first on floor and third all-around with a score of 35.525.
Audrey Jonas – second on vault, sixth on bars, eighth on floor and seventh all-around with a score of 34.050.
KellyRose Kokotas – fifth on vault, eighth on bars, eighth on beam and eighth all-around with a score of 34.000.
Tatum McKinley – ninth on vault, fourth on floor and ninth all-around with a score of 33.425.

Mackenzie Madsen – third on beam and eleventh all-around with a score of 33.125.
Kailea Abernathy – ninth on beam and thirteenth all-around with a score of 32.000.
Angel Trefry – sixteenth all-around with a score of 30.950.
Coralea Wright – seventeenth all-around with a score of 30.775.

Junior B Age Division
Fallon Abernathy – second on vault, second on bars, fourth on beam, fourth on floor and first all-around with a score of 36.150.
Morgan Phipps – first on vault, sixth on bars, second on floor and third all-around with a score of 35.150.

Senior A Age Division
Kylie Holman – third on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam third on floor and second all-around with a score of 36.800.
Alex Westfall eighth on bars, fourth on beam, seventh on floor and eighth all-around with a score of 35.300.
Alexa Rendon – eleventh all-around with a score of 34.400.


The Level 4 team was awarded the first place banner with a score of 110.775.


In addition to the previous qualifiers, the following Level 4 gymnasts earned an all-around score of 34.00 or greater and qualified for State Championships to be held in November: Audrey Jonas and KellyRose Kokotas.


Level 5 Team:

Senior A Age Division
Hali Chaykin – eighth on vault, first on bars, second on floor and fourth all-around with a score of 36.150.
Scarlet Hunsaker – sixth on vault, sixth on beam and ninth all-around with a score of 35.250.
The Level 5 team did not compete for a team award as they did not have the three members necessary to qualify.


All three teams will compete at their homecoming meet this weekend, the Flipping Above the Valley Invitational hosted by and held at the Gymnastics Zone here in Napa.
