Gymnastics Zone optional team competes in Aloha Gymfest

Gymnasts from 28 gyms from the U.S., Canada, Australia, England and Japan gathered in Kailua, Hawaii last weekend for the Aloha Gymfest, hosted by Kokokahi Gymnastics. The first international competition of the season proved that the team from the Gymnastics Zone was ready for the challenge, as the team left Hawaii with many new awards.

Three Napa gymnasts score top in nation

Three of the Gymnastics Zone’s Junior Olympic optional level gymnasts have placed in the MyMeetScores National Top 100 gymnasts for 2014 with their high scores from the Golden State Classic held in Roseville on Jan. 11 and 12.

Level 7 gymnast, Katy Cordeiro made the list in two events and all-around with her scores on vault (9.500), beam, (9.350) and all-around (37.275).

Level 8 gymnast, Blake Gozashti also made the list in two events and all around with her score on vault (9.325), bars (9.350) and all-around (36.900).

Level 8 gymnast, Thea Michovsky qualified for the top 100 list in one event with her uneven bar score of 9.300.

The Gymnastics Zone’s two Junior Olympic optional teams competed last weekend in their season opener, the Golden State Classic meet hosted by Technique Gymnastics in Rancho Cordova.

Gymnastics Zone Xcel teams sweep season opener

The Golden State Classic meet, hosted by Technique Gymnastics in Rancho Cordova, served as the season opener for the Gymnastics Zone girls Xcel competitive team. The team swept several levels of competition, bringing home many awards.
