Gymnastics Zone level 5 team wraps up regular season



The Gymnastics Zone level 5 compulsory team wrapped up their regular season competition at the Flip or Treat Invitational hosted by High Definition Gymnastics in Livermore last Saturday.

The Gymnastics Zone levels 3 and 4 teams competed at their last meet of the regular season last weekend at the Disco Tech Invitational hosted by Technique Gymnastics in Rancho Cordova.

Gymnastics Zone competes in Reno meet

The Napa gym’s compulsory teams traveled to Reno, Nevada last weekend to compete at the Goblin Games, hosted by Deltchev Gymnastics Academy. The academy was founded by Stoyan Deltchev, a former Bulgarian Olympian who trained with Gymnastics Zone head coach Bogi Michovsky as part of the Bulgarian national men’s gymnastics team. The meet featured not only impressive gymnastics, but also a costume contest and Halloween-themed fun for the gymnasts. The Zone girls left the Silver State with many new individual and team titles to their credit.

Gymnastics Zone teams shine at home meet

After three weeks on the road, Gymnastics Zone’s three compulsory teams earned individual and team honors in front of their hometown Napa crowd at their second annual Flipping Above the Valley Invitational.

Napa gymnasts compete in season opener

The three compulsory teams from the Gymnastics Zone opened their season at the River City Classic, hosted by Elevate Gymnastics in Elk Grove.

Gymnasts earning a score of 34.500 or higher (levels 3 and 5) or 34.000 (level 4) during regular-season competition qualify for postseason state championships in November. These gymnasts have qualified for championships:

Level 3: Fallon Abernathy, Jayla Daniel, Morgan Phipps, Emily Tran, Kylie Holman and Alexa Rendon.

Level 4: Sasha Mufich, Scarlet Hunsaker, Hali Chaykin and Adaline Hanes.

 Level 5: Ashlyn Parlett, Camille Silva, Shannon Sowersby, Kristina Meno, Ashley Gilbert and Haley Corrigan.

All three teams will compete again Saturday at The Begonia Gymfest, hosted by Santa Cruz Gymnastics.
