Gymnastics Zone optional teams win homecoming



The optional team at the Gymnastics Zone have traveled all over the west – from Honolulu to Colorado Springs, and from Las Vegas to Pasadena just to name a few.  The team of fourteen were welcomed home by an overflowing crowd on March 5th at the Napa Valley Invitational, a chance to compete in their home gym with family and friends to cheer them on and the girls realized that “There’s no place like home” as they were awarded medals and trophies to display proudly.


The results are as follows:

Level 7 Team
All age division
Hali Chaykin – second on vault, third on bars, first on beam, eighth on floor and first all-around with a score of 36.450.
Naomi Uemura – fifth on vault, fourth on bars, third on beam, fifth on floor and second all-around with a score of 35.875.
Shanna Hunt – fourth on vault, sixth on bars, seventh on beam, fourth on floor and fourth all-around with a score of 34.250.
Lydia Benton – eighth on vault, second on bars, third on floor and fifth all-around with a score of 34.900.
Kylie Holman – seventh on bars, second on beam, ninth on floor and sixth all-around with a score of 34.675.
Morgan Phipps – first on vault, fourth on bars, eighth on beam and seventh all-around with a score of 34.400.
Ashley Gilbert seventh on vault, ninth on bars, fifth on beam, first on floor and eighth all-around with a score of 34.050.
 
The level 7 team finished fourth in the session with a score of 108.200

Level 8 Team
All age division
Ashlyn Parlett – fourth on vault, fourth on bars, sixth on beam, fifth on floor and fifth all-around with a score of 36.950.
Haley Corrigan – seventh on vault, ninth on beam, seventh on floor and ninth all-around with a score of 32.000.
 
Level 10 Team
All age division
Blake Gozashti – second on vault, third on bars, first on beam, first on floor and first all-around with a score of 35.575.
Thea Michovsky – third on vault, second on bars, second on beam, second on floor and second all-around with a score of 34.600.

The Level 8, 9 & 10 team won the second place trophy with a score of 107.775.


The Level 8, 9 and 10 teams will compete in their USA Gymnastics State Championships this weekend at the Alameda County Fairgrounds hosted by Edge Gymnastics of Dublin.

Gymnastics Zone Xcel Teams compete at Napa Valley Invitational



The Xcel competitive teams from the Gymnastics Zone competed on March 4th and 5th at their home meet, the Napa Valley Invitational held at the Gymnastics Zone here in Napa.

The results are as follows:

 

Xcel Bronze Team

Younger age division
Jamie Krueger -  first on vault, sixth on bars, first on floor and sixth all-around with a score of 35.800.

Middle A age division
Emma Townsend – fifth on vault, fifth on bars, third on beam, third on floor and second all-around with a score of 36.750.
Ella Kenny – third on vault, fourth on bars, fifth on beam, seventh on floor and third all-around with a score of 36.650.
Ella Gomez – fourth on vault, fifth on bars, second on beam and fourth all-around with a score of 36.600.
Sofia Cotant – second on vault, eighth on bars, fourth on beam, ninth on floor and sixth all-around with a score of 36.500.

Middle B age division
Camila Macajola – fifth on vault, sixth on bars, second on beam, sixth on floor and third all-around with a score of 37.175.
Sophia Woodhams – fifth on vault, seventh on beam, third on floor and sixth all-around with a score of 36.600.
Isabelle Grace  ninth on vault, fourth on beam, third on floor and seventh all-around with a score of 36.500.
Older age division
Maggie Derr – first on vault, second on bars, fifth on beam, third on floor and fourth all-around with a score of 36.700.

The Bronze team placed fourth on the session with a score of 110.850.


Xcel Silver Team

Middle A age division
Tate Renaudin – first on vault, fifth on bars, eighth on beam, seventh on floor and sixth all-around with a score of 35.300.
Rachael Shafer – ninth on vault, third on bars, seventh on beam, ninth on floor and eighth all-around with a score of 34.575.

Middle B age division
Alexia Oltramare – fourth on vault, first on bars, fifth on beam, sixth on floor and fourth all-around with a score of 35.450.

Older age division
Natalie Wetzel – second on vault, third on bars, third on beam, fourth on floor and third all-around with a score of 35.925.

The Silver team placed third in their session with a score of 106.875.

Jordan Whitehead – first on vault, fourth on bars, first on beam, third on floor and first all-around with a score of 37.375.
Emmilia Moy – third on vault, third on bars, fifth on beam, first on floor and third all-around with a score of 37.350.
Eliana Lawson – seventh on vault, ninth on beam, fifth on floor and ninth all-around with a score of 34050.

The Platinum Team placed first in the session with a score of 111.650.

The Silver, Gold and Platinum teams will compete in their State Championships on March 25 and 26 at the Robert Livermore Community Center, hosted by California Gymnastics Academy of Livermore.

Gymnastics Zone Boys Teams Catch the Spirit of the Flame



The Gymnastics Zone boys teams wrapped up regular season competition at the Spirit of the Flame invitational on February 24-26 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.  The meet was unusual as it featured three floors of simultaneous competition, one men’s and two women’s competitions in the same room, offering spectators a chance to see some of the best gymnastics in Northern California in one venue.

The results are as follows:

Level 4 Team:
7 & under age division
Gabriel Deeik   sixth on floor, third on pommel, sixth on rings, fourth on parallel bars, fourth on high bar and fourth all-around with a score of 53.400.

Eight year age division
Eli Ewig  second on parallel bars and twelfth all-around with a score of 51.300.

Nine year age division
Bodey Denkin – first on floor, eighth on pommel, sixth on rings, fourth on parallel bars, fourth on high bar and fourth all-around with a score of 56.000.
Orion Seal  fourth on floor, sixth on rings, eighth on vault, ninth on parallel bars and eighth all-around with a score of 54.000.
Leonardo Deeik – ninth on floor, eighth on pommel, eighth on vault and thirteenth all-around with a score of 51.500.

Nicholas Boyd  fourth on pommel and sixteenth all-around with a score of 49.800.

10-11 year age division
Landon Cummings – first on floor, eighth on pommel, fourth on rings, third on vault, sixth on parallel bars, eighth on high bar and sixth all-around with a score of 53.600.


Level 5 Team

9 year age division
Ethan Exum  eighth on vault and fifteenth all-around with a score of 52.100.

10 year age division
Thomas Malloy  ninth on floor, seventh on pommel, ninth on rings and ninth all-around with a score of 53.800.
Riley Grinnell – ninth on floor and thirteenth all-around with a score of 52.400.
Mario Delanni – nineteenth all-around with a score of 47.000.

12+  age division
Jared Cox – sixth on floor, fifth on pommel, seventh on rings, first on vault, fourth on parallel bars and sixth all-around with a score of 56.200.
Emilio Delanni fourth on vault, seventh on parallel bars, sixth on high bar and twelfth all-around with a score of 52.300.
Matthew Payne – seventeenth all-around with a score of 47.500.


Level 6 Team

11 year age division
Petar Zivkovic second on pommel, eighth on rings, fourth on vault, fifth on parallel bars and seventh all-around with a score of 52.900.

12  age division
Noah Pack first on floor, third on pommel, second on rings, second on vault, sixth on parallel bars, seventh on high bar and third all-around with a score of 55.800.


The level 4 and 5 teams will compete next at their State Championships on March 11 & 12 at Head over Heels Gymnastics in Emeryville.
